Why use animated videos to increase your digital engagement?

Why use animated videos to increase your digital engagement? Kate Horne, Director of Linear Media, shares her thoughts.

65% of people are visual learners, and 90% of the information transmitted to the brain is visual. According to molecular biologist John Medina, vision is our most dominant sense, taking up half of our brain’s resources. Industry standards suggest video content in any form is 80% more engaging to your clients or potential clients, so it’s time to start considering using this medium to get your message across to your clients. It makes no difference if you are selling to professionals, as a retailer or as an individual; it’s time to start embracing all elements of digital in your overall marketing strategy.

Digital marketing works best when multiple strands of the tools on offer are implemented. It is important to consider your organic reach, paid reach, the quality and level of your content and how you are presenting this to your target market. Video content, in any form, helps your SEO and can provide something a little more engaging than your competitors are offering. Here’s what aminated video can do for your business:

Improve your website and social media design

When we visit a website or start following a business or individual online, we are looking to gain something. This might be information, entertainment or both. In the case of your business, your clients and potential clients will be looking to either get information or take an action. By using animated video, you will present a more engaging design that will hold the attention of the visitor for longer. Social media posts are more likely to catch your target’s eye as the scroll through posts if you have created something with movement and colour.

Create an engaging story

According to Forbes, the unconscious processing abilities of the human brain are estimated at roughly 11 million pieces of information per second. Compared to that, the estimate for conscious processing is about 40 pieces per second. Wow. We need to look at how your business creates an engaging story to differentiate yourselves from your competitors. What are your USP’s? How can we make them stand out in a short animation?

Get and hold your audience’s attention

Through choice, most of us will watch a short video rather than read a short article, particularly on social media. We are bombarded with information and the brain will sometimes (particularly on a Monday morning!) look for what is easiest for it to understand, consume and remember. Animated video is non-aggressive, a little bit different and some fun. It gives us the ability to take your audience away from their thoughts for a moment or two.

Deliver the message

Why not do something different? Deliver your message in a clear, concise and interesting medium. Don’t be fooled in to thinking animation is just for fun, it can be professional and create a much more engaging way of delivering your business message.

Bring your product or service to life

Particularly in business, a sales message can be dry and quite long winded. We can help you select the salient points for your particular product or service, strategize on what is most important and develop an animation that works for you. Animation is a tidy, structured and eye-catching way to keep getting your message across to your followers, clients and potential clients alike.
